Robert Beckmann’s artwork has been exhibited in museums internationally from Finland to Moscow and Scotland to Canada. Nationally, his art has soloed in museum and gallery shows from New York City to LA. His Body of a House series, eight 6′ x 8′ oils, was painted in colors, from B and W photos of a two story house destroyed in 2.3 seconds by a nuclear blast at The Nevada Test Site. A memorial to Hiroshima, It toured to 18 museums in this country. A variant soloed in The Artists’ Necropolis in Saint Petersburg, Russia. Robert is a prolific and very accomplished muralist. He has completed over 250 projects throughout the country. In 2003, he was commissioned by The Architect of the Capitol (congress) to research, design and create six murals for The US Botanic Garden in Washington, DC. The project took 2 1/2 years. Each mural was painted with a unique silicate paint on specially prepared cement panels. The process was developed to enable the 12′ x 7′ murals to last under the worst conditions (for art): high temperature, UV and humidity.
