Shannon Troxler

Artist, Painter | Medium: Oil | Read Artist Bio

Artist Bio:

Shannon Troxler is a graduate of the Schuler School of Fine Art in Baltimore Maryland as well as the Art Students League in New York City.  She has had numerous solo exhibits spanning the entire United States including shows at the Kimball Art Center and the Samuel Morse Museum in New York.  Her work has been in several prestigious national shows including:  Birds in Art, Arts for the Parks, The Governor’s Capitol Art Exhibit, and the Salmagundi Club.  Ms. Troxler’s work has also found a home in the permanent collection of The Wyoming State Museum in Cheyenne.

While many artists tend to stick to a formula that they are comfortable with, Shannon Troxler consistently seeks to advance and push her own boundaries in an effort to challenge herself and stave off predictability.  Just as her inspiration, the beauty of the natural world, thrives on the unexpected, so to does Shannon’s work.

In her own words she states, “Inspired by “Origin of Species” and a presentation on fossils, I decided to explore the concept of evolution as a metaphor for the process of creativity, the art of “becoming.” Drawings becoming paintings, thoughts becoming words, dinosaurs becoming birds and bones becoming flesh. As an artist, one of my primary goals is to continually evolve. My work is the physical record of that evolution.”

From her graceful oil on gold leaf paintings to her uniquely layered encaustics and everything in-between, Shannon Troxler’s loyal collectors are always treated to work that is fresh and timeless.

Shannon Troxler’s work can be found in fine art galleries throughout the U.S. including galleries in Jackson WY, Missoula MT, Annapolis MD, and Coeur d’Alene ID.
